NRP 8th Edition Course Completion

(Textbook NOT INCLUDED - Available through AAP or another reseller)

Prerequisites:  Must complete the online course through NRP Learning Platform before attending the in-person portion.

Class duration:  Approximately 1 hour or less, depending on the number of students attending.

Audience:  This course is designed for healthcare providers or healthcare students who have completed the online NRP module through NRP Learning Platform. It is appropriate for either the NRP Essentials Provider or the NRP Advanced Provider tracks. The Neonatal Resuscitation Program is based on the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care of the Neonate.

What is covered:  This is the required hands-on portion of the NRP course. Completing the online program prepares students for what should be expected in the in-person component. NRP Advanced Providers will be tested on additional concepts that are beyond what is covered in sections 1-4 of the textbook.

Completion card:  NRP Provider eCard is issued immediately at the end of the in-person skills session; eCard is valid for two years.

Additional course items

  • REQUIRED (unless obtained through your hospital / institution or directly through RQI Partners):  Non-refundable NRP 8th Edition Online Course Access Code. You will be emailed an access code to the online course within 24 hours of registration. It is highly-recommended to select the Advanced code, unless your employer specifically stated that the Essentials is OK. SELECTING THE ADVANCED CODE will guarantee acceptance of your NRP card.
  • IF YOU SELECT NO TO BOTH ACCESS OPTIONS, YOU WILL NOT BE SENT A COURSE ACCESS CODE.
  • OPTIONAL:    NRP provider lapel pin.
  • OPTIONAL:    NRP 8th Edition badge / pocket reference cards (set of 2 - may be used during skills evaluation).
  • OPTIONAL:   The ECC 2020 pocketbook reference includes BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP references, including the algorithms, drug dosages, and related procedural descriptions along with convenient tabs to quickly reference material in critical situations.  It is spiral-bound, durable, and contains 101 full pages of reference material.  It is a must-have for healthcare professionals working in emergency, intensive care, or critical care departments, and it is easily carried as a pocket-reference.  NOTE:  Will be available at check-in time for class, and it may be used as a reference during skills evaluation.  Highly recommended by experienced healthcare professionals.

Please select which version you will complete in the in-person skills session. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to complete the Advanced version, as it guarantees acceptance of your NRP card by your employer: The price of the course does not include the cost of the online access code, but it is available to purchase when registering for an additional charge which is less than what is charged when obtaining the license code directly from NRP.
