Audience: The Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 United States. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. It covers the four steps of first aid and first aid skills such as finding the problem, stopping bleeding, bandaging and using an Epinephrine pen, as well as child CPR AED, infant CPR and our course also includes adult CPR AED, child mask, infant mask, and Asthma Care Training for Child Care Providers. The course also covers choking, drowning, bites, burns, stings, and allergic reactions, along with other areas that would require first aid or CPR with a special focus on pediatric populations.
This course is ideal for all people who work with children of any age, such as:

What is covered: The Heartsaver® program includes the fundamental concepts of rendering basic first aid as needed for selected medical emergencies (breathing, choking, allergic reactions, stroke, seizure, etc.), injuries (wounds, burns, broken bones, etc.), and environmental emergencies (animal / insect bites, heat / cold, poison, etc.), and includes the fundamental concepts of providing high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) for adults, children, and infants.
Completion card: The Pediatric First Aid CPR AED eCard is issued immediately at the end of the in-person skills session; eCard is valid for two years.
Notes: Part 1 of this course is taken ONLINE through eLearning.Heart.org with the access code supplied with your registration. The in-person Skills Session (Parts 2 and 3) will be completed at one of our training facilities after completing Part 1 and scheduling a Skills Session for Parts 2 and 3. Instructions for registering for the skills session are provided in the confirmation email sent after registering.
This course meets the CPR / First Aid training required by Arizona Administrative Code, Title 9 training requirements for childcare workers as specified in R9-5-403(B)(1)(b)(i), as well as R9-5-403(B)(1)(b)(iv-vi).
